Mission Health is pleased to announce the Rapid Access Anemia Clinic, a service that specializes in the expedited evaluation, treatment and management of suspected or recurrent iron deficiency, preoperative anemia and anemia caused by chronic renal insufficiency.
The Mission Health Rapid Access Anemia Clinic offers a variety of services, including anemia evaluations, transfusion, iron infusion, ESA administration bone marrow examination and careful follow-up care. The practice serves the Asheville area from a location in the Mission Cancer Center.
“Anemia is one of the most common clinical problems encountered by primary care providers,” said Albert Quiery, MD, the medical director of Mission Medical Oncology and founder of the Rapid Access Anemia Clinic. “We believe anemia is a common and significant clinical issue, and we developed this service to provide timely interventions to improve quality of life while reducing morbidity and surgical complications.”
The Rapid Access Anemia Clinic brings together hematologists, advanced practice providers, specially trained nurses and pharmacists who work together to provide staffed evaluation and treatment of anemia in a single, convenient location. Appointments are promptly scheduled within 24-48 hours of a referral to ensure patients have convenient and speedy access to care. As with all Mission Health facilities, appropriate measures are being taken to ensure that our staff and patients are safe and protected.
The Rapid Access Anemia Clinic is welcoming new patients. For more information, call 828-253-4262 or visit missionhealth.org/rapid.
