Exciting Opportunity to “Grow” CNAs for Highlands-Cashiers Hospital

We’re pleased to announce a new opportunity to current and prospective team members interested in becoming CNAs and working for Highlands-Cashiers Hospital (HCH).

The “Mission Grows” Scholarship is established by Mission Health to provide financial assistance to individuals seeking to become certified nursing assistants.  The Southwestern Community College (SCC) Scholarship is specifically for those seeking employment at HCH, and successful completion of the program is a pathway to employment at HCH as a CNA in a part-time or full-time role for a minimum of one year. Once scholarship recipients become team members, they may be eligible for additional CNA II, RN or other clinical program financial support through Mission’s Tuition Reimbursement program.

This scholarship is intended to benefit those who need financial assistance to enter the medical profession, whether to be employed as a CNA, or to begin their career as a CNA and possibly seek additional education and career opportunities at HCH. Scholarship recipients will contribute to delivering on Mission Health’s BIG(GER) Aim:  to get every person to their desired outcome, first without harm, also without waste and always with an exceptional experience for each person,  family and team member.

Applications for this program are accepted on an ongoing basis. These should be emailed to careerexplorationcenter@msj.org, or mailed to the Career Exploration Center, One Hospital Drive, Suite 4303, Asheville, NC  28801. Candidates will be notified of scholarship awards within two weeks of application receipt date. This scholarship is for use for Southwestern Community College CNA classes only.
