Mission Health Wins Accolades as Premier Wellness Focused Workplace

Asheville, Jan. 13, 2017 – Mission Health has been selected as one of seventy-six of nation’s Best and Brightest® in Wellness for 2016 by the National Association for Business Resources for the second year in a row. The NABR is a service organization that offers educational programs, collaborative opportunities, data, benchmarked practices, and other tools to businesses that promote healthier workplaces and enriched communities.

The NABR promotes the concept that employees who have a wide range of opportunities available to them that focus on wellness will not only be healthier, but more productive and happier. The Best and Brightest® in Wellness program acknowledges worksites that value and facilitate wellness in exemplary ways for their employees. The program also focuses on the fact that a healthy workplace enhances the community-at-large. Winners are chosen by the NABR annually.

The respected wellness systems firm SynBella partnered with the NABR and evaluated 2016’s winners via an assessment of SynBella’s own design. Wellness programs were judged on carefully considered criteria, which included wellness program plan quality, benefits, employee incentives, leaders’ responsiveness to employee feedback, corporate culture, and other factors.

Taylor Foss, Senior Vice President of Organizational Transformation at Mission Health, is delighted at winning this recognition because she observes this institution’s intentional emphasis on employee wellness every day. “It’s heartening to know that Mission Health is being acknowledged, along with our peers, as an enlightened workplace and community builder, especially when it comes to workplace wellness. Preserving and nurturing good health is, after all, what we do,” she says.

NABR President Jennifer Kluge notes that 2016’s winners recognize the great influence that satisfied and healthy employees have on a corporation’s fiscal health and business success. “This year’s winning companies represent high standards and an exceptional commitment to healthy employees, healthy families and a healthy community,” she explained. As a Best and Brightest® in Wellness winner, Mission Health will be listed in the upcoming online edition of Corp! Magazine, in addition to other benefits.

This award reflects Mission Health’s consistent pursuit of excellence as both a provider of the best in community care and a progressive employer.
