Media Policies

Mission Health values its partnership with the media, and we make every effort to accommodate media requests. On this page, we have provided the resources, policies and contacts that will be helpful to representatives of the media as you work with us.

  • Privacy Policy: Due to the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPPA) passed by Congress in 1996, Mission Health is not able to give out any patient information and must adhere to a strict confidentiality policy. In addition, in order to protect the privacy of our families as they navigate through a difficult time, we cannot connect our patients or their families with members of the media. We appreciate your understanding as we work diligently to protect the confidentiality, privacy and safety of our patients and staff.
  • Onsite Media Interviews: As stated in our Privacy Policy, we strive to protect the confidentiality and privacy of all of our patients and their families. Therefore, members of the media are encouraged to schedule onsite interviews in advance. Additionally, members of the media will need to be escorted by a Mission Health representative while conducting interviews at any Mission Health facility. Members of the media may film and/or broadcast live off property with a Mission Health facility in the backdrop.
