Rating Agencies Cite ‘Strong Operational Metrics and Solid Financial Positions
ASHEVILLE, NC (March 21, 2018)
– Mission Health is among eight of the nation’s strongest financially performing health systems in the United States according to Becker’s Hospital Review, the nation’s leading source of healthcare finance and business news. Becker’s reports the top eight performing health systems were compiled from recent credit rating reports from Moody’s Investors Service, Fitch Ratings and S&P Global Ratings, the nation’s leading rating agencies. “Mission Health System has an ‘Aa3’ rating and stable outlook with Moody’s. Mission Health has a strong market position, and Moody’s expects the system to maintain favorable financial performance and healthy liquidity as it enters the final phase of a multiyear construction project,” the report cites. “We couldn’t be more-proud of our team at Mission Health,” said Ronald A. Paulus, MD, president and CEO of Mission Health. “This recognition is due to their dedication to not only provide high quality healthcare to the people of western North Carolina, but by always doing so in the spirit of our 133-year legacy of delivering high value, patient-first care to the communities we serve.” This latest national recognition for financial and operation performance compliments last year’s national acknowledgement from Truven Health Analytics. For the fifth time in the past six years, Mission Health was named one of the nation’s Top 15 Health Systems for clinical quality and efficiency. 2 “World-class care starts at home,” Dr. Paulus added. “Our goal is to offer exemplary healthcare for all. Every decision we make is from the lens of our mission: to improve the health of the people of western North Carolina and the surrounding region. Finding novel ways to address the intractable health problems tied to social determinants, opportunity, transportation, education and more is a critical goal.” The full Becker’s Hospital Review report can be found at beckershospitalreview.com
